We are at it again, its another blog hop and I am having so much fun with the Star Wars theme!

Princess Leia is a cheese sandwich (big surprise!) with almond butter sandwich buns on the side. I’m kinda regretting the jelly
rosy cheeks’. Maybe pink soy paper circles would have worked better…

The Ewok is a cucumber bear with soy paper hood. He is resting on a bed of hummus, standing on a carrot log and holding a pretzel spear.

Our light sabers are pretzel sticks dipped into a mixture of cream cheese, coconut oil (to keep it from cracking as it dries) and a touch of vanilla syrup. I made a lot of ‘mistakes’ on this one because it was sooooo yummy! The colors are from using natural food colors. I tried for a blue using cabbage water and baking soda but the color wasn’t concentrated enough so it ended up too soupy.

For a little extra fun, I decorated the PlanetBox with stickers and included two Lego Ewoks

Don’t forget to check out the rest of the hop, these gals are so creative and fun. The hop starts bright and early on Friday (those dang East Coasters!) Click on the image below to see Kristie’s amazing work!

  1. […] An adorable Ewok make by cutting a piece of cucumber with a teddy bear cutter and layering a soy paper “hood” on top. (This same lunch also has a cool Princess Leia sandwich!) […]

  2. That Ewok is too stinkin’ cute! I have that cutter too, and never would have thought of that!

Thanks! It wasn’t my original plan, but then I was poking around researching something else (I can’t even remember what now) and saw a sandwich made with that cutter and bells went off!

I think it’s great how your blog has transitioned, Diana, and I love reiandg it! Though I still consider myself a style blogger, ever since I moved over to my new blog a few weeks ago I’ve felt so much more free to write about whatever I want, and it’s great. I’ve noticed many other bloggers doing this as well and I think it’s fantastic we’re all so much more than just one thing, why confine yourself to writing about it?

I’m with you plain old sandwiches are bronig however, I threw a plain old sandwich (well, one made with ciabatta) into the microwave for about 20 seconds on high, wrapped in a piece of papertowels and it was enough to melt the cheese and heat it through so it was almost panini like. Not crunchy. All it had was cheese, tomato and basil. Tasty. You could buy pesto or that topping they make for bruscetta and use that instead of mayo.Another great lunch food is pizza. Even if you don’t make your own dough (remember, you can get dough from most bakeries and you can even freeze it) you can buy the premade pizza pies and put your own toppings on them. Make two that way you have lunches and dinner.

MsCinderella – hello! 🙂 I haven’t made a supply list on Amazon (yet! I’m wnirkog on it!) – but the two containers I would suggest getting are the Sassy Mealtime to-go set and the 4 sqaure Lock & Lock box, both should be found on the first page here. Those are my most frequently used boxes – they are a great size for a 3yo! They both come with inner containers of their own, but my 2nd “must-have” item would be silicone cups. They are really handy. Thanks for your comment! Let me know if you have any other questions! :)—Susan B. – I even felt exotic typing it. 😉
